World Hunger Facts

Food, clothing and shelter are basic needs of human. A large number of people are suffering from hunger problems almost all over the world. Developing countries are facing hunger problem more severely. African and Asian countries are facing hunger issues and need attention of the world. 1: Number of people suffering from hunger

According to an estimate, more than 925 million people are suffering from hunger all over the world. It is around more than the combine population of U.S., Canada and European Union.

2: Medical Cost of Hunger

World pays quite heavily for hunger and malnutrition. World have to spent more than 30 billion dollars almost every year.

3: Hunger and Gender

If we divide chronically hunger people, with respect to their gender, it is an obvious fact that 60% of them are women. Women are deprived in every walk of life, including food.

4: Hunger in children

As a matter of fact, hunger is passed from mother to her children. Around 17 million children are malnourished as their mothers do not have enough food to eat.

5: Hunger and intelligence

Hunger affects a child’s intellectual development very badly. Malnourished children have low understanding of mathematics and language tests, if we compare them with well nourished children.
