History

In 1724. Fort Dummer established near the site of Brattleboro which is now Vermont. It was the first permanent settlement of Vermont. Its real history begins from 1741.

Geography

It is a green area containing the forested green mts. It is a dominant feature of Vermont. It is divided into four groups which are all traversing in north south direction. It has 23958 sqm land area. It has a population of 623,050.

Economy

Dairy farming dominated a long time in agriculture of the state; the important products are apple, syrup, maple, cheese and green houses. Stone, gravel, asbestos and sand are the most important mineral resources of the state. Many industries like manufacturing of computers, textile, pulp and paper, food products are playing important role in economy of Vermont.

Government

The Vermont state is governed under the constitution of 1793. The general assembly or the legislature of state consists of senate with 30 members. The House of Representatives contain 150 members.
