Babe Ruth is the American baseball player. George Herman Ruth Jr. is the real name of the player. He played for major league baseball for 22 years. He remained members of three teams and was known for his hitting brilliance. He was one of the first five players, who was elected into national Baseball hall of Fame.

1. Early life and family

Babe Ruth was born on 6th February, 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the eldest in the family of eight. He married a waitress in 1919 and was the father of two daughters. They diverced in 199 and the great player remarried in the same year.

Babe Ruth was the strong man of large build. His height was 6 feet and 2 inches and his weight was more than 300 lbs when he was use to play baseball for different teams.

3. Name

His real name was George Herman Ruth, but world knows his as Babe Ruth. A report called him “Dunn’s babe” when he was signed by Jack Dunn as rookie.
