10 Air Facts

Air is a part of atmosphere of our earth. It is everywhere, any place which seems empty to us is actually filled with air and the place where it is absent is called vacuum. Air seems to be harmless because it is weightless but when it gets extra pressure; it can be really very harmful. In plane words, air is our atmosphere where we live and breathe.

1. Properties of air

Air is a substance which is colorless, weightless tasteless and odorless.

2. Mixture of gasses

Air is a composition of different   gasses with most of the amount of nitrogen i.e. 78%. Other gasses are oxygen 20% and 2% of other gasses like carbon dioxide, carbon mono oxide etc.

3. Other components of air

Other than gasses there are some other components of air also like; water mist (around 1%) and a little amount of helium, as well.

4. Air pollution

Today our air is getting extremely polluted. This pollution first caused hole in ozone layer and now it’s widening this hole. Main factors of air pollution are dust, pollen, spores, volcano ashes etc.

5. Usage of air

Air can be used efficiently and usefully e.g. in deserts where its very hot but the wind blows with heavy pressure air can be used for the production of electricity with the help of wind mills. Air pressure is also used in different machines for several tasks.

6. Importance of air

Air is really very important because it contains oxygen for humans and animals and CO2 for plants. Plants also take nitrogen from air so that it becomes part of their structure. It is also important for food producing process. Another really important feature of air is that sunlight passes through it and comes to us…it absorbs harmful affects of sunlight and purifies it.

7. Air haze

Pollution in our atmosphere causes haze in the air… main factors that create air haze or air smog are excessive use of chemicals, vehicles, and other sources of CO .

8. Necessity of air cleaning

As air is getting polluted it is causing different problem for every living being; not only humans but also plans and animals even for bacteria! So, air would have to be protected for a healthy life.

9. Air temperature

When temperature gets hot air gets lighter by weight and rises towards sky and when temperature falls the air gets thicker.

10. Forests

In forests usually, air is dense that’s why in forests there is always a heavy rain.
