It was invented for the self security and self-defense of mankind but man is using it just like other inventions in a wrong way. The excessive use of gun and its illegal use in crimes have produced an alarming situation and immediate precautionary measures should be taken for gun control. Here are few steps which should be taken for the control of gun use.
1. Registration
All the gun holders should be registered so that government and concerned authorities have information about the gun holders and a proper check over them can be maintained.
2. License
Every gun holder should have a license and the illegal or without license guns must be confiscated to control the gun use. This will greatly decrease the crime rate and helps to make gun use only for legal reasons.
3. Restricted number of guns
Everyone should be allowed to keep a specific number of guns and nobody shall be allowed to keep more than one gun. This restriction can help to reduce the number of guns and make it easy to monitor the gun use.

The guns should be made expensive so that it will become hard for the users to get them and thus it will decrease the use of guns

Heavy penalty and fine should be imposed on the illegal use of the gun and the convict should be given hard enough punishment to bade others from doing it.
6. Public Awareness
Public awareness about the control of gun use should be spread between the common people to make sure that the gun use is limited
7. Unauthorized dealers and illegal ways
Unauthorized dealers should be banned and the illegal ways of buying guns should be checked strictly to ensure the safe gun use
8. Proper training
Government and concerned authorities must make training compulsory for every gun user to limit the gun use as well as to ensure safe use of gun.
9. Periodic check and balance
Periodic check and balance must be maintained on gun holders and their licenses should be renewed after proper examination of the gun and mental health of the holder to minimize threat of gun use.
10. Age limit
Age limit should be imposed on gun use to avoid the damage by the immature gun use and it will also reduce the number of gun users which will ultimately result in control over gun use.
