A home is a permanent shelter that is provided to you and that protects you at least against some hardships of life. At least you have something to own and some place to live in. it doesn’t mean that collection of few bricks is called home; that’s called a house or a building but not a home. Home is where all relations also live with you. Importance of a perfect home can be asked from those who don’t have home or are homeless. For them homelessness is the biggest evil. People who are away from their homes can truly tell how the homelessness actually feels like. It is rightly said that if you don’t have good home to live in then before complaining look at those who even don’t have ugly home.

The most visible form of homelessness is people sleeping in streets and on foot paths. They don’t have some place to take shelter or even sleep in.

2. Reasons for homelessness

There are two main reasons of homelessness i.e. poverty; when people don’t have money to buy or rent a house. Second reason is shortage of rentable houses or heavy rents.

Poverty and homelessness are closely related because poor people are usually unable to pay for housing, food, rent and other miscellaneous needs.

Usually low wage worker are the people who are suffering from homelessness. Growing distance b/w the labor and producer or dealer or consumer also causes homelessness.

According to a survey report 94 percent of people living in streets are adults. These adults then indulge in different crimes.

Scientists have used different methods to collect the data on homeless people. The most commonly used methods are point in time counts and period prevalence counts.

7. Growing frustration

Like all other evils homelessness also causes frustration in homeless people. This frustration also causes other evils like bribery, steeling etc.

8. Responsibility of housing sector

A great responsibility lies upon the housing sector to cope with the problem of homelessness. They should build (ok…small houses) but at the lower rate. They should also think about those who sleep in concrete pipes.

9. Results

Homelessness doesn’t cause only frustration but also other mental ills like depression. It can also cause addiction disorder and domestic violence.

Only some strong efforts like insurances of jobs, adequate support for handicapped and those who can’t work can cope with this rising issue.
