Children are the best gift of GOD to their parents. No family is complete without the sweet giggling of kids. They are angels and are the only heavenly bodies on earth that are free from all the worldly benefits. In their soul, smile the angels. But unfortunately these beautiful angels face harassment in one way or another by the hands of either their parents or other known or unknown people. Below are given some facts about the child abuse which is a growing concern.
1. Physical abuse
In 2008, the surveys revealed that every one out of 601 children was a victim of physical abuse. The children beaten by their parents were 80 percent.
2. Death under physical abuse
Around 3 out of 100, 000 physically molested children die due to injuries. There are as much as 81 percent children who are below four year of age who died due to physical abuse.
3. Reported cases
The sad thing is that most child abuse cases as never reported and considered as small thing. The proportion of reported and unreported cases is 1 ration 2.
4. Neglect
Neglecting children and not caring for their safety is the most common type of child abuse. This accounts 78 percent of all cases. Neglecting children could lead to extremely ugly results.
5. Documented physical abuse cases
Statistics show that around 18 percent of the cases that are registered under child abuse are the physically abused children cases.
6. Sexually abused
The worst thing that has prevailed in our society is snatching the child hood of the child by sexually abusing him. A fourth of all the girls and sixth of all the boys population is sexually ill treated before they reach the age of 17 years.
7. Abusers
The sexual abusers are not the unknowns as perceived by many. 8 out of 10 sexual abusers are either found in family of the child or any person the child knows.
8. Drug using mothers
Mothers are responsible for the un bringing of their children because no one else can treat the children like mothers. But the growing use of drugs is also a reason for the neglect of the children. Every year 100 babies are born to the drug using mothers.
9. Abused by parents
The drug addicted parents beat their kids as was found in most cases.
10. Prisoners
Another sad aspect of the child abuse is that children who are abused in their child hood themselves become the same when they grow up, more than 80 percent of the prison inmates are abused in childhood.
