These organisms can be beautiful like sea horses, deer etc and can be fatal like lion, snake, shark etc. all of these animals are vital and plays their own part in making this planet a worthy place to live on. In ocean there are many animals and one of them is sea horse. Sea horse is a fish and it is named sea horse because its shape is just like a horse. Some interesting facts about the sea horse are as follows

1. Skin instead of scales

Unlike other fishes sea horse has very thin skin which covers its bony structure rather than scales like other fishes.

2. Poor swimmers

Sea horses are fishes but they are very poor swimmers so they are found resting most of the time and avoids to swim. They only swim when necessary.

3. Food

Sea horse food includes small, tiny fishes, plankton and small shrimp. They also use their snort to attach themselves to some support and stay stable.

4. Courtship dance

Sea horses can dance for approximately eight hours. During which they change colors, swim side by side and spin around

5. Camouflage tactics

Sea horses use camouflage tactics to ambush on their prey and thus to obtain the food easily and with less effort. This is used by sea horses to deceive their prey.

6. International protection

Sea horses are given international protection on 15th may 2004. Now they are protected internationally because they are beautiful animals and are excessively used for trade purposes.

7. Trading

According to a survey 25,000 sea horses are traded every year due to its beauty. They are displayed in water houses and kept in aquariums as ornamental fishes just gold fish and other beautiful animals and fishes.

8. Fins

Just like every fish sea horses use fins to swim. Sea horses have fins just behind their eyes and they use it to swim.

9. Movement of eye

Sea horses can move only one eye at a time. They cannot move their both eyes at a time.

10. Origination

Sea horses are believed to be originated from the pacific ocean.
