History

It is a type of small hydroelectric system which is used to generate under 5 KW. They are used in remote areas where a small amount of energy is required.
Disadvantages
Hydro projects are submerging a large area due to the requirement of a reservoir, which is the main drawback of hydro energy generation stations. This up stream of dams damage a large biologically rich land.
