It is a kind of a toast, which is thin and dry. It is served with soup, salad or sometimes wrapped up by cheese. It is named after an Australian singer Dame Nellie Melba. When she was ill, her chef created this toast for her. Do not think it a very complicated dish as it very easy to make or toast. Fix it in toaster and take them out as they get little hard. Then cut them in two equal pieces with a knife. Again, toast these two slices to make Melba toast.
It is easily accessible and at times was give to those children who were in the process of teething just to give them for chewing being a hard substance. The quantity of cholesterol and calories is less in melba toast and an excellent source of getting mineral manganese.
