Matzo Nutrition Facts

Matzo is typical bread eaten by Jewish community mostly on their Passover. It is unleavened. Eating leavened bread is not allowed in Jewish law. At Passover seder , Matzo is not prepared by adding  egg, wine or fruit juice.  It resembles to saltish cracker having six inches square shape. Only flour and water are added in making Passover seder matzo. If you buy  matzo from superstore , there will be written just “water and flour” on its pack. As yeast is considered cause of sin so they avoid it. There are two types of matzos. One is brittle and its type is  tortilla or cracker and second is soft which is like Mediterranean pita bread. There is another kind named “egg matzo” but interesting thing is it is without egg. Rather any matzo which is  prepared with any liquid other than water is called egg matzo. Fruit juice can be added instead of water. We can call it by some other names like Matza, Matzah, Matzot,Matzoth and Matzos.
