Radius of a typical thunderstorm is around 15 miles and they usually lasts for 30 minutes. The lightening can see 10 miles outside the radius of thunderstorm.

Thunderstorms are big cause of deaths, around the world. Lightening kills more people each year, as compared to tornadoes. It causes around 95 death and more than 300 injuries around the world.
