10 Water Facts

Water is the essential component to live. Every creature in the world, no matter solid or gaseous, living or dead is created from water. Without water, one cannot live for more than a week. The variation of life without water is different for different living beings. Water comprises 70 percent area of the earth and the human body contains 70 percent of water content. The two components of water are 2 parts hydrogen and one part of oxygen. Water has three isotopes; the heavy water (an isotope of water) is used in nuclear projects. 1. Human Body

An adult’s body is 70 percent of water and only three percent of other materials while a baby’s body is 80 percent water or the body weight.

2. Water Intake

Water intake is necessary to let the body function properly. Healthy body needs around 3 gallon of daily water intake, this makes 48 cups of water.

3. Water Intoxication

Drinking too much of water quickly causes water intoxication. When water is drunk quickly it dilutes the sodium level in the blood stream and causes the imbalance of water in brain.

4. The Water Sources

The water intake cannot be seen only the pure water but also there are many edible items available that contain significant water content. So the daily intake of water can be completed by drinking water with balanced food.

5. Other Drinks

People think that coffee, tea and cold drink etc. contain significant water content so they can also fill the need of water. But these drinks contain caffeine that acts as a diuretic which prevents water from traveling to the parts of body that need water the most.

6. Water Is Neutral

Water has the HP number 7. This number makes it a neutral drink, neither acidic in nature nor basic in nature. That’s why it’s perfect.

7. Universal Solvent

Another chemical property of water is that it is universal solvent. Whenever and wherever it travels, it dissolves mineral, chemicals and other contents.

8. Under-Earth

The drinkable water on the earth’s surface can be seen at many places but the drinkable water beneath the earth is much more than the water present on its surface.

9. The Amount Of Water

If you think, more and more water pours from sky and raises the earth’s water, you are wrong. The same amount of water is still present on earth which was present millions of years ago.

10. Usable Water

As we know that about 70 percent of earth is covered by water, but the usable water is only 3?10 percent of the total water on and inside earth.
