Rocks are the integral part of earth’s surface. These are the solid mineral materials that form the earth’s surface. Rocks are placed by nature not only on the earth’s surface that is called crust, but it is also in the inner parts of earth and they have been there since billions of years. Rocks are of different shapes, colors and textures and have properties according to these characteristics. Rocks can rightly be said as the oldest part of our planet and the most informative one!
1. Source of fire
These are the rocks who are the first one who introduced us to fire. In ancient times two special kinds of rocks were rubbed together for fire.
In ancient times, rocks were used for hunting, shelter and defense purposes. Now they are used to fetch minerals from them.
3. Shape of rocks
It is not necessary that rocks are only hard and big, but they can be small and soft also. They can be small even as a grain of sand. They are also in different colors.
4. Balanced planet
Latest scientific research has revealed the fact that rocks and mounts are the balancing par of earth. Earth remains in its orbit and keeps its balance due to these heavy weights. This fact is also discussed in holy book QURA’AN.
5. Existence on other planets and moon
Astrologers and other scientists have discovered that rocks do not exist on earth only, but they also do exist on other planets of solar system and our moon also.
6. Source of minerals
Rocks are not only huge or small collection of stones, but actually these are huge source of important minerals like potassium, salt, copper, graphite, granite etc.
7. Source of fetching information
Rocks have been a big source of information about the history and evolution of our planet earth for several years. Geologists are studying different rocks and every new findings about earth and its age and history.
8. Classification of rocks
Geologists classify rock into three categories i.e. metaphoric rocks, sedimentary rocks and igneous rocks. Among these all, igneous rocks are the oldest one.
9. Immune in nature
Rocks are immune in nature. It means that they do not or very rarely react with acids and other chemicals. They also have no layer; every part of a single rock has same characteristics.
10. Can be destructive
Rocks can be destructive by nature. Sedimentary rocks are volcanic so when these rocks can get hot enough i.e. when temperature of second and third layer of earth increases enough, these volcanoes can erupt and can cause massive destruction.
