At first, its membership was given only to the students of Harvard University then it expanded to other colleges, universities and high schools. Though facebook was initially meant to discuss issue and bring people closer in a friendly environment, but as the time is passing it is becoming addiction for many people. Majority of its “victims” are students of different age groups who do not care for studies even!

According to a survey held in 2009, facebook is the no. 1 social networking site and has most simple tools and highest no. of users among all the social networking sites. Before face book, Orkut was at top but face book outwitted that and now, even that twitter has come in market, facebook is still at top.

Every year facebook generates revenue of about 2 billion US dollars and its owners are considered among the top 100 richest people of the world.

On average, every facebook user has about 130 friends in his friend list.

Facebook founder Mark calls him a Harvard graduate but actually he was “dropped out” for not concentrating on his studies. Still he is the youngest millionaire in the world.

Facebook has recently held an event that was really offending for Muslims around the world. As a result, they did a boycott against F.B. it get banned it several Muslim countries. After the apology of F.B owners, it was again open in many countries.
