Going green is the philosophy associated with sustainable development. According to this philosophy, we should conserve our resources for future generations. Moreover, going green supports recycling and reuse techniques. Here are some facts about going green.

1. Paper recycling

Paper recycling is a going green approach. Recycling one ton of papers not only saves 20 trees, 60 pounds of air pollution but it also saves 7,000 gallons of water as well.

2. Absorption of carbon dioxide

Gasoline is a big cause of environmental pollution. Burning one gallon of gasoline produces 19 pounds of carbon dioxide. A mature tree can absorb only 48 pounds of this gas in whole year.

3. Poor duct system

We use heating and cooling systems in our houses to keep their temperature normal. However, poor duct system waste a lot of energy, which costs millions of dollars per year.

4. Water wastage

A lot of water gets wasted in our homes and offices through dripping taps. According to an estimate 100 million gallons of water is used in a single day in United States only.

5. Save water

Every one of us can save 8 gallons of water every day, only by turning off the tap while brushing his teeth.
