Employment of children as a regular labor is called as child labor. This is an illegal practice and banned in many countries. It is considered, that it is a exploitation of children to employ them as a cheap labor, instead of sending them to schools for getting education. Here are some eye opening facts about child labor.

1: Age of children

Usually, very young children are involved in child labor. 5 to 14 years old children are forced to work in different industries.

2: Number of working children

It is estimated that 30% children are engaged in child labor, in developing countries. More than a million children are forced to enter in child labor almost every year.

3: Associated problems

Around a billion children work in harmful conditions, all over the world. A large number of children face beating and sexual violence by their employers.

4: Child labor industries

Agriculture, mining, packing, factories are few sectors, in which child labor is actively working. Moreover, rug making, looming and automotive industry are some other industries known for child labor.

5: Child labor law

Child labor laws are present all over the world. According to these laws, working of children under the age of 16 is illegal. However, children can work in fields with their parents, after the age of 12, but that too after school hours.
