When people commit crimes they are punished. Death penalty is one such punishment which is the biggest and cruelest of all the punishments. But not every person who dies against a reported crime is a real criminal. There are some countries that do not kill their criminals but like life imprisonment. Some countries execute their criminals for crimes not only killing. There are some other facts which we need to know.
1. Executing is less costly than life imprisonment
It is said that it is very costly to keep criminal for life than executing the dangerous criminals. It is so because those criminals are provided with the thing that they need to live.
2. Deterring crimes
The horrible death penalty is no doubt horrible and even the most dangerous criminals would never like to get this sentence. But even the death sentence is not helpful to deter the crimes. Crimes still happen but their rate is increased and their ways of committing them has become sophisticated.
3. Innocent people conviction
One of the saddest aspects of the death penalties is that mostly the people who are executed for the said crimes are not even judged properly. So many people who die for some crime die innocent. They are dodged and even justice remains silent.
4. Race and riches
In many countries, one determinant of death penalty is the race of the person. Many people die innocent because they belong to the lower race. Similarly a rich will live and the poor will die if they both contest in a case.
5. Random
Death penalty is sentenced at random. Not every killer is given death sentence no matter how many people he murdered. It is sometimes the misjudgment and other times the money.
6. Anti-religious
Death penalty is NOT anti religion. It is specified in the religious scriptures of all the big religions. But still many religious groups oppose executing and even call it anti-religious.
7. Human rights
There are many countries that, in the name of human rights, are against such punishments. This is wrong, the death penalty is there is their constitutions but still they do not practice it due to the so called human rights giving a way to other dangerous people committing more and more sins.
8. Millions Spent on prisoners of death penalty
The millions that are spent on the prisoners of the death charges can be spent on the victims’ families. But these criminals are kept for years and a lot of money is wasted IF they are really criminals.
9. Lawyers
If the lawyer is good, he will not let his man die. But the low quality of lawyers is one problem.
10. Parole
The criminals are kept in the jails and spent a lot on them but these criminals can be put on parole to save money, in the security check before their sentence time matures.
