Grizzly Bear Facts

Grizzly bears are very large in size. They are considered very dangerous for humans. There are some cases of human killings that were brought about by the Grizzly bears. Here are some facts about grizzly bear.

Shape and Size

They are very big in size. They are about 7 feet in height when stand on their four paws. They weigh over 350 to 800 pounds. Female weigh 25% less them males.

Range

They can migrate to long distances. They migrate in sake of food. They found in Alaska, United States of America and western Canada.

Habitat

They usually prefer to habitat in protective places. They build their dens in places like burrows, caves dead timbers etc.

Population

Their population has decreased in few years. In continental United States about 1200 grizzly bears has decreased. They found in specific areas like Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. In Alaska, there are about 31,000 grizzly bears. About 21,000 bears are living in western Canada.

World Record Bear

According to some sources it has come to know that a bear having weight of over 1600 pounds and 12.6 feet of length is found in Alaska. It was said to be a world record grizzly bear. It holds the world record of biggest grizzly bear in the world.
