Animals are an important part of our eco-system. Some of these animals live in forest and jungles while some are kept as pets and are used to gain benefits. There are some animals which prefer to live in jungles or outdoor while some live happily in homes. Some animals are kept in houses as pets to gain benefits while some are kept for ornamental purposes. They are kept just to make the house look more beautiful. 1. Classification

The mice are placed in kingdom Animalia. They are placed in order Rodenta. Their scientific name is peromyscus maniculatus.

2. Habitat

Mice usually live in homes outdoors, piles of garbage and in hollow tree logs. They are nocturnal in habit. They also make their nests to protect their young ones.

3. Shape.

Mice have a pointed face and two small eyes. They have four legs. Their color ranges from light brown to black. They have fur like hairs on their body.

4. Diet

The diet of mice includes seeds, fruits, beetles, caterpillars and grass hoppers. They prefer to eat insects. Mice also fond of the underground fungus

5. Constant Eaters

Mice are the constant eaters and eat throughout the day. They eat fifteen to twenty times a day. Food should be kept away to avoid mice in houses.

6. Damages property

Mice are very dangerous for the property. They destroy the property and cause damages to the important articles of the house.

7. Color Blind

Mice lack the color pigments. They cannot see red color. They are able to see shades of white and black and some shades of blue.

8. Curiosity

Mice are very curious. They pay special attention to the changes around them and the new objects. They do not get irritated by the presence of new things.

9. Athletes

Mice are good runners, climbers and jumpers. They can also good swimmers. They swim their way through drains and other watery places.

10. Same Path

Mice uses same path time and again and make a path full of oil and dirt which get attached to their fur and tail when they travel through the pipes and tubes.
